Baptism

Sonntag, 15. Februar 2009, 13:41 Uhr von Felix

Isma, our Spanish friend and house mate, has received a new, unique name. I baptized him in the name of the pasta, the noodle and the holy sauce: Isma-Isma-Macaroni-Man.
Thou shall spread the word!

It’s a sin

For so long Tom, Chris and I have been wondering where to get the “nice food” in Tallaght. Finally, with help of Carmen, I’ve found the answer. Recently we went to Marks & Spencer in order to buy some more special food for her. Well, we found quite a lot of good stuff. Very expensive, though.

One of the things we bought was some mousse-like dessert. At least we thought it was just chocolate mousse: at home, on closer inspection, we found out that it was a small chocolate muffin all covered by two kinds of chocolate-mousse and topped with some chocolate sprinkles. Sooo good!

As if it was not bad enough already that we got addicted to Hummus…

Crêpes in the City

Enter Carmen.
Carmen: “Let’s go to the Lemon and take a crêpe!”

Although I heard it so often during the last days, it made me smile and chuckle again and again. But maybe it’s just me.

Anyway, what was it that I wanted to tell you? Ah well, the Spanish girls fell in love with a tiny café: the Lemon. It’s in the city centre, in William Street South (that’s near Grafton Street). On Thursday I went there with Carmen, Isa and Berta and although it was a bit dear for my Continental wallet, I have to admit that it was totally worth it: great coffee, great crêpes.

Baguette Man

Yesterday we bought two baguettes for dinner. Afterwards we went to Dunnes to buy some more stuff. Chris was asked to take the baguettes. The cashier just smiled and said “I won’t ask any questions…”

At least he found a use for the strange pockets of his new jacket.

Let’s get nerdy

Freitag, 13. Februar 2009, 19:24 Uhr von Felix

So much happened this week: a chaotic InCuSo meeting, lots of cooking and great meals, spontaneous socials, Spanish games, crêpes in the city and whatnot. But one event was out-standing.

On Monday, after the InCuSo meeting, we went for a pint to Metro. It was a bit boring until Isa had a really great idea: let’s have a nerdy party; we made plans. As Thursday’s lectures were cancelled due to an exam board meeting, we decided to meet at Isa’s place in the city centre on Wednesday to have the nerdiest party ever. I think we succeeded: a lot of fantasy and some really nice “costumes”, but see for yourself:

I hope you enjoyed these photos as much as I did.
